NFL Week 2 Three Team Parlay

ItBefore I begin I want to remind everyone of my new sponsor, Sportsbetting.ag.  Check them out by clicking here

Here is my three team parlay for the week, based on all the night games.

TNF - Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (pk). Last week the Bengals used an opportunistic defense and turnovers to come from behind and beat the Colts in Indy. Meanwhile the Ravens crushed the bills 47 - 3 for their third highest margin of victory in franchise history. They  are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games in September, and look to have one of the best defenses in the AFC. I feel like they should be favored by at least three points here, so getting them at pick'em is good value. Take the Ravens to win.

SNF - NY Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-3). The Giants failed to cover last week as home underdogs. Now they go on the road to take on a Dallas team that's having trouble scoring points. The Cowboys lost to Carolina 16-8 in a game that was not really that close. Ezekiel Elliott only got 15 carries, as the Cowboys tried to pass their way to victory. I don't think they'll make that same mistake again this week. This is their home opene and I expect them to get it done. Take the Cowboys -3.

MNF - Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears (-3.5).  The Seahawks continue their two-game road trip to start the season. They didn't have quite enough juice to beat Denver last week, losing by 3. The Bears meanwhile, were victimized by Aaron Rodgers, as the Packers, came from behind to win by 1. They are going to want to get that bad taste out of their mouth as soon as possible, and taking on the Seahawks at home is just the way to do it.

This will be the Bears home opener and I look for them to make a strong showing, especially on defense.  Khalil Mack was impressive against Green Bay despite no training camp and limited practices before the game. I look for the Bears' defense to make things very difficult on Russell Wilson, who always seems to be good for a couple of turn overs when harrased buy a good pass rush. Look for him to get sacked early and often.  I think the Seahawks have a lot of trouble scoring points here and it's quite obvious to everyone that their  defense ain't what it used to be. Take the Bears -3.5.

Good luck everybody.

What's the surveillance room like? Repost

This is a repost of a post I made about a year ago, but I feel like it bares s repeating. Enjoy. I got another good question last week, from a reader wanting to know what a surveillance room is like, how it is laid out and how it is staffed and run.  So here goes. I have worked in surveillance departments at six different casinos in the last 25 years. Some very small (300 slots, 6 blackjack tables) and some very big (3000 slots, 60-70 table games of all kinds). When I started in the early 90's it was all VCRs and not all cameras were recorded all the time. We used a lot of "multi-plexers" and "quad screens". A multi-plexer used one VCR to display and record up to 16 screens on one monitor. Since the VCR still records at 30 frames per second, that meant that if you did a review on any one of those 16 screens you would be looking at a "freeze frame" effect, where you only got 1.8 frames per second of the shot you were looking at. A quad would record

Advantage play is not cheating. Repost

This is a reprint of a previous post on advantage play. Before I begin, I want to remind you about my Patreon page. If you enjoy my content, and would like to see more of it more often, please consider becoming a patron. Click here to go to my page. Whenever I meet people and tell them what my profession has been for the last 25 years, I always come away with the feeling that they equate card counting and advantage play as cheating. It is not, of course, as most of the readers of this blog undoubtedly know. It is just against the policy of most casinos to allow it. As a legally licensed, privately owned business located on private property, all casinos have the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason they choose. Most of the time, card counting, or ace/shuffle tracking, or anything else that casino management considers "advantage play" wont even get you thrown out, just politely asked to not play blackjack anymore. Management would love to have you go play slots
