In yet another attempt to to monetize my blog, I am now selling sponsorships for you to advertise anything gaming-related on this site. Books, websites, apps, articles or whatever, as long as it has to do with casino gambling I will advertise it for you here,  and for a very reasonable rate.

For those of you unfamiliar with my blog, I can tell you a little about it. I've been blogging on Blogger for almost 2 years. I am up to over 3, 000 page views a month, which I know isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, however my blog is very targeted.   All of the people that read this blog are interested in the casino industry as a whole, and specifically the following things:  Casino surveillance, Casino gaming and it's management, blackjack (basic strategy and  advantage play), craps and other table games, slot machines, sports betting, loss prevention, CCTV technology, the philosophy and training of surveillance personnel, and security and surveillance response to various types of incidents.

As a 25 + year veteran of Casino surveillance, I consider myself an expert in all of those areas. I cross-promote all of my posts on  Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin, where have I have many industry contacts including professional casino operators, as well as hardware and software manufacturers and integrators.

I can devote an entire post to your product or service, or mentioned it briefly in multiple posts, whichever you prefer.  Click on the link to my eBay listing here. if you have any questions contact me through the eBay posting and we can discuss what you want to do.

In other ways to help, you can click here to become a Patron of mine on Patreon. And  here is the link to my Amazon affiliate page and some  Good books about Casino gambling.

Finally, if I could impose on my good readers just one more thing, it would be to please mention this blog to your friends or acquaintances or coworkers that might be interested in it, and it's subject matter. I'm trying to grow my readership in an organic way, without purchasing online advertising to do it. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

Have a great day, and good luck everybody.

What's the surveillance room like? Repost

This is a repost of a post I made about a year ago, but I feel like it bares s repeating. Enjoy. I got another good question last week, from a reader wanting to know what a surveillance room is like, how it is laid out and how it is staffed and run.  So here goes. I have worked in surveillance departments at six different casinos in the last 25 years. Some very small (300 slots, 6 blackjack tables) and some very big (3000 slots, 60-70 table games of all kinds). When I started in the early 90's it was all VCRs and not all cameras were recorded all the time. We used a lot of "multi-plexers" and "quad screens". A multi-plexer used one VCR to display and record up to 16 screens on one monitor. Since the VCR still records at 30 frames per second, that meant that if you did a review on any one of those 16 screens you would be looking at a "freeze frame" effect, where you only got 1.8 frames per second of the shot you were looking at. A quad would record ...

It's only $4.99 plus fifty cents shipping.  Now on to this weeks topic.  I'm sure some of you invest in the stock market. Almost every one has a 401k if their employer offers it. Some off you  might even invest in individual stocks or a mutual fund in a private brokerage account.  So let me ask you what you would do if you got a hot tip from a friend about a tech stock, a "highly volatile" tech stock, that was poised to go through the roof. Maybe they're about to release a new app, and there are rumors that Google is going to buy them out. Maybe you've squirreled away some "mad money...

Reader question.

OK well, I'm back to posting after about a 6 month. I absence. Sorry I was in and out of the hospital with a bunch of problems, but I'm all better now So i noticed that during my abs. Since I got a few questions from readers, I would like to answer one of them now. So the question is, how much money should you take with you to the casino? the answer is of course, if depends. If you happen to be one of the lucky people who live in a jurisdiction where legalize cambling is allowed. And it's a place that you go to to have fun or relax, Or just have some excitement in your life, then that will be a different amount that you will want to take with you as opposed to someone who is making a trip to Vegas that they make only once a year. And if you live Nevada, like I do and you go into casinos all the time, then that will be a different answer as well. As a general rule of thumb. I don't walk into a casino. Unless I have a $100 that I am willing to lose. If you don...
